What Are Enhanced Stacks?
Every “stack” in the FWA Exchange represents a modem + SIM configuration that you manage, customize, and pay for on a daily basis.
Enhanced Stacks are a premium version of these combinations, only available when using FWA-supported modems with full software integration. These stacks unlock an advanced feature set that makes it possible to:
- Control when a modem turns off — based on data usage, time, cost, or location
- Assign site-level permissions to managers or local staff
- Customize delivery of Wi-Fi like never before
- Automate reselling without requiring support tickets or manual shut-offs
- Stay protected with built-in security control and geographic enforcement
These are the smartest modems in the game, and you’ll manage them all through your FWA dashboard.
Feature Breakdown: What You Can Do With Enhanced Stacks
Here’s a deep dive into each of the new stack-level controls available right out of the box:
1. Set Data Usage Limits (Per GB)
Now you can configure any Enhanced Stack to automatically shut off after a specific amount of data has been used.
Use Case Examples:
- RV parks selling 10GB Wi-Fi packages per guest
- Short-term rentals offering capped internet access
- ISPs offering flexible, pay-per-gig plans
Sell a 5GB pass for $15? Just configure the stack to turn off at 5GB. No overages. No surprises.
2. Suspend Stacks by Time (Per Hour/Day)
You can now schedule a modem to turn off after a set period of time — hours or days.

Stack billing is daily — $2.50/day when active and $0.50/day when paused (for most stacks). Now you can put a hard stop on how much a modem can cost before shutting off.
