Massive Update Incoming for Nomad Wholesale: Sell Without Inventory, Scale Without Limits

:rocket: Massive Update Incoming for Nomad Wholesale: Sell Without Inventory, Scale Without Limits

Fulfillment automation, inventory-free selling, and full dropshipping support now in development

Dear Nomad Wholesale Partners,

We’ve got some huge news coming out of the Nomad labs—an update that will completely change the way you manage your wholesale business, launch new offerings, and scale your customer base.

This announcement is all about unlocking flexibility, eliminating friction, and giving you the ability to sell at scale—starting day one.

Over the past few months, we’ve listened to your feedback, gathered insights, and watched how wholesalers interact with our platform. What we saw was clear: while our current system works incredibly well for resellers managing their own inventory, it creates limitations for new wholesalers and those scaling fast.

So, we got to work—and we’re now just days away from releasing one of the most powerful updates to our wholesale platform yet.

:wrench: The Problem We’re Solving Today

As it currently stands, our system requires wholesalers to:

  • Pre-purchase inventory (modems) before selling
  • Manually manage shipping logistics
  • Block orders if no modem inventory exists
  • Handle customer fulfillment end-to-end

This meant that if a wholesaler didn’t have a modem already in stock, the customer couldn’t place an order through the storefront.

This approach made sense in the early stages—it helped us guarantee modem availability and encouraged solid forecasting—but it also presented some real limitations:

  • New wholesalers couldn’t start selling right away
  • Growth was capped by upfront hardware investment
  • Logistics and shipping slowed down onboarding
  • Dropshipping was only possible with manual workarounds

We knew we could do better. So we are.

:tada: Introducing: Nomad’s New Fulfillment-On-Demand System

With this new update, we’re flipping the entire ordering logic upside down—and making it work for you.

:repeat_button: Here’s What’s Changing:

  • Orders will no longer be blocked if you don’t have a modem in stock
  • If you don’t have inventory, Nomad will automatically ship the order on your behalf
  • You will be charged a flat $40 fulfillment fee per order
  • The remaining revenue from the sale will go directly to Nomad to cover hardware costs
  • Your customer gets the exact same experience, but without you lifting a finger

:delivery_truck: We’ll Handle the Logistics, So You Can Focus on Selling

We’ll pick, pack, and ship the modem.
We’ll update the tracking in your dashboard.
We’ll notify the customer.
All branded as coming from your wholesale storefront.

:key: What This Means for You (Major Benefits)

This update fundamentally changes what’s possible for Nomad wholesalers. Here’s what it unlocks:

:white_check_mark: 1. You Can Start Selling Immediately

  • No need to buy inventory in advance
  • No wait time between onboarding and go-to-market
  • Perfect for new wholesalers who want to validate before investing

:white_check_mark: 2. Sell Without Limits

  • No more worrying about running out of stock
  • No artificial cap on how many customers you can serve
  • Sell one modem a day—or a hundred—it doesn’t matter. We’ve got you covered.

:white_check_mark: 3. Completely Hands-Off Fulfillment

  • No more boxing modems or printing labels
  • No more tracking numbers or shipping confusion
  • We fulfill, you grow

:white_check_mark: 4. Built-In Dropshipping—The Right Way

Unlike traditional dropshipping models that require third-party workarounds, this is built natively into your wholesale platform.

It’s not a workaround—it’s infrastructure.

:white_check_mark: 5. Powerful for Teams, ISPs, and Entrepreneurs

This update is a huge unlock for:

  • Existing Nomad partners with fast-growing customer bases
  • Agencies or digital marketers launching wireless brands
  • Local ISPs looking to add revenue without new logistics burdens
  • Entrepreneurs building their own branded internet offering

:date: Timeline: When Can You Use It?

We are currently finalizing testing and anticipate releasing this feature by the end of next week.

However, our team is pushing hard to release it sooner if possible. As soon as it’s live, you’ll see a detailed walkthrough inside your dashboard.

:package: How the Fulfillment Fee Works

If Nomad fulfills an order on your behalf, a $40 flat fulfillment fee will be applied to the order.

This fee includes:

  • Picking and packing the modem
  • Shipping (standard shipping method)
  • Inventory coordination and activation readiness
  • Customer email tracking notifications

This ensures a consistent, professional experience for your customer—and saves you hours per order in back-office work.

:brain: Let’s Recap: What You’ll Be Able to Do

  • :white_check_mark: Start selling Day 1 without inventory
  • :white_check_mark: Let Nomad fulfill customer orders on your behalf
  • :white_check_mark: Automate dropshipping within your dashboard
  • :white_check_mark: Remove all barriers to scale
  • :white_check_mark: Save time, reduce complexity, and sell more

:speaking_head: We Want Your Feedback

As always, this update was inspired by you—our community of hardworking, entrepreneurial partners. We’re constantly listening and evolving, and this update is a direct result of the conversations you’ve been having in Discord, email, onboarding calls, and webinars.

If you have suggestions, ideas, or questions, let us know. We’ll continue refining this system to make it the most flexible, powerful wholesale engine in the industry.

:fire: Next Steps

Get ready to scale.
Get ready to drop the hassle.
Get ready to sell—without limitations.

Stay tuned. We’ll update you the moment this goes live.

This sounds great, I’m excited to utilize this when needed. The only question I have is, when the modem sales for $250 and ships from nomad we get charged $40 off the top. The $250 the customer paid for modem goes to nomad? Plus we pay $40? I believe the pay structure needs to be a little more clear and if we get to control equipment pricing, with our service pricing. We need a clear understanding on how much each modem will cost us wholesalers, plus the $40 service fee so we know our bottom line. Thank you for working on this and the opportunity it will give most wholesalers an edge up. :rocket: :+1: :money_with_wings: :antenna_bars: :wireless:

It costs Nomad about $20 just in packing and logistics, and we ship over 100 modems a day!

And it costs just under $20 for postage when sending via FedEx.

I understand the $40 fee nomad will need to charge for packing, shipping and logistics. I agree :100: percent with the $40.

Reading everything I read it as we wholesalers will pay $40 to nomad off the top, then the money charged from the customer for equipment also goes to nomad. I was just wondering if we will be able to set pricing for equipment, what nomad charges us for equipment and will we be able to make any money off the sale of equipment to maybe cover the $40 fee? I’m all about nomad making money and not paying for equipment shipping. Just wondering how we wholesalers can absorb the $40 into the equipment price so we end up getting the profit on first month of service paid by customer when they receive equipment and activate it.

If we charge $120 for service monthly, we pay $60/$70 to nomad and collect $60/$70 from the service cost. We would have already have paid $40 for shipping fee to nomad plus another $15 for activation and then $3 per month for use of the exchange. We would basically only make $2/$10 the first month.

I guess what I’m asking if we would be able to use the sale of equipment to absorb some of the fees. I hope I didn’t sound like I was complaining about the $40 shipping fee. I agree with the fees, just thinking about our bottom line.

Hey, that’s a great question—and no worries at all; you didn’t sound like you were complaining. It’s smart to think through how the numbers work.

Here’s how the equipment side works:

If you have the modem in stock , you can charge whatever you want. You keep 100% of that sale, and you don’t pay the $40 fee —that fee only applies when we handle shipping. You’ll still pay the $15 activation and the $3 exchange fee, but the rest is in your control.

If you don’t have it in stock , we’ll ship it from our inventory and take care of everything. In that case, we charge the $40 fee and keep the modem payment since it’s coming from our supply. You’ll still earn your monthly commission when the customer activates.

Also, now is the best time to stock up on modems . They’re just $25 each as part of a special limited promotion from Mr. Garza while we launch this new program. Once this offer ends, the price will return to the standard rate—so it’s a great opportunity to stay ahead.

Since you already have four modems, we’d love to hear how you plan to work with us going forward. Are you planning on carrying your stock of modems so you can set your modem prices?

Thank you for the response. I plan on keeping a few modems on hand so I can complete on site sales and installations when needed. I prefer to do lots of marketing of the service and benefits of having the service and let nomad package, ship and take care of most equipment inventory. I would like to “set it, and forget it” like the old Ronco cookers from the early 2000’s and focus on customer support, marketing and taking care of making sure everything is running smoothly. :rocket:

This is a great feature for those looking to capitalize on the monthly recurring revenue however, some resellers would like the option to opt-out of this update. If, by chance, there is an inventory issue we do not want to default to this option. We are keeping our monthly plan lower in the beginning to obtain a customer base with plans on raising the MRR in 6 - 12 months so the modem is the quickest form of revenue (upfront).
When you release this - would you please add the option that we can turn on and off this Nomad fulfillment?

I agree with you, I was hoping we would be able to purchase the modems from nomad through the drop shipping fulfillment and set pricing. Basically they would charge us $100 for modems, we resale for $250 and nomad takes $140 from the sale to cover shipping costs and what they charge for modems. We would get the remaining balance. It’s a great option for wholesalers who don’t have capital to invest in equipment or wanting a self sufficient business that operates in the background.

I remember those commercials; I haven’t thought about them in years lol.

I think your plan seems wise, especially when ramping. I like to discuss more on our call later today

We have set it to be automatic based on whether you have modems in your personal inventory or not. Unfortunately there’s not currently away to manually turn that on and off as it’s a systemwide setting. I will pass this along to the team to see if there are any options.

May I ask, what is your concern about it being automatic? I’m not criticizing, just trying to learn and make sure were covering all angles on the site.

We would like 100% control over our business. If we do not have inventory we have a backup plan. Additionally, we do not want inventory glitches to cause a modem to ship and lose out on revenue. We would like the option to opt-out of drop-shipments.

I agree, we should be able to control the drop shipping feature in our exchange area. I am waiting for us to have control over the equipment pricing now so we don’t have to ask someone to change pricing.

When this drop shipping was first announced yesterday, I asked if we would be able to control pricing on the modems and asked if we would be setting prices so we could make a small profit margin from each modem sale and cover the $40 shipping/logistics cost.

Appreciate you bringing this up. Just to be fully transparent—the entire wholesale division is still actively being developed. That includes how dropshipping works, how pricing is handled, and what control you’ll ultimately have within the system.

Right now, nothing is finalized. That’s why feedback like yours is so important. I’m collecting everything from the field and passing it directly to the decision-makers who are shaping this from the ground up.

So if there’s anything else—frustrations, ideas, or suggestions—I’d really like to hear it. The more I can gather from you and others in the trenches, the better we can shape a system that actually works for everyone.

Thanks for all you’re doing @David to support us.
Circle Wireless would like to see our inventory count on our inventory page. We would also like the option to opt-in/out of dropship, daily service charges option to be once weekly/monthly, a dashboard to our Stripe Connect account balance, transaction & deposits. When we communicated with Stripe they informed us that all is managed by Nomad - we understand that all is in development, just tossing in our suggestions.
We would also love to have control over not just plan pricing but the fees that are added. Our ticket regarding fees was closed without an update or explanation. Ticket #113567

On demand sounds amazing! Especially if just starting out. With the new fulfillment on demand system, what does the comission percentage from a sale?

Glad you’re excited about the on-demand system! The commission stays the same, so you’ll still earn the same percentage per sale as you would if you had inventory. The big benefit is that you don’t have to buy stock upfront—you can sell first and let fulfillment handle the rest.

Does this make it easier for you to scale your business? Let me know if you have any other questions!
